Due to continued business growth, we have a great opportunity for a talented Building Surveyor to join our team in Oxford, Woodstock.
We have a depth and breadth of experience, expertise, and local knowledge to support our clients at every stage of property investment, ownership, and occupation from acquisition to disposal. The successful candidate will be part of a team of building surveyors covering all aspects of professional and project related building surveying across a wide range of sectors including educational, commercial, and industrial.

The role will cover the full spectrum of building surveying services including (but not limited to) design and specification, clerk of works, contract administration, surveys, and dilapidations.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
* Deliver projects, commissions, and professional services.
* Maintain effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion.
* Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner and help promote Ridge and Partners by engaging with clients and attending networking events.
* Assist with undertaking building surveys, taking particulars on site, attending meetings, writing specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes, and administering contracts for maintenance work.
* Support the Building Surveying team on complex multi-disciplinary schemes.
* Help analyze and report on building defects.
* Support the Building Surveyors with preparing schedules of dilapidations and negotiating settlements.
* Assist with supervising building work on site.
* Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of property.
The skills and experience you need to have for this role
* Relevant degree (RICS approved, 2:1 minimum).
* Well organized, diligent, and proactive.
* A full driving licence.
* Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS, and other software).
* A team player.
As a Building Surveyor at Ridge and Partners, you will need to demonstrate the desire, drive, and enthusiasm to become a Chartered Building Surveyor, which will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge APC support process) and the local Building Surveying Team.
You will need to be personable, presentable, and have good communication skills in this client-facing role. An ability to produce your own documentation based on our standards is essential, as is the ability to organize and manage your time efficiently in the delivery of services for multiple projects simultaneously.
