We now require an Academy Physiotherapist to take an important role in our team and join our Medical department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Evidence based assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation primarily for U9 – U16 academy players, whilst supporting as required U21 and U18 programmes. Ensuring appropriate medical cover for all U9 – U16 training sessions and fixtures, with support as required for U21 and U18 sessions and fixtures. Work closely with Academy Physiotherapists / Sports Therapists to supervise and support the medical provision and transition of U9 – U16 players into the professional development phase. Age-appropriate medical screening is completed on a seasonal basis for all U9 – U16 academy players. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with academy coaching, sport science and strength & conditioning staff regarding player availability and those participating with training restrictions. All return to play programmes are designed collaboratively with sport science, strength & conditioning and coaching input to optimise the player’s physical and football outcomes. Utilise and incorporate player data to reflect upon injury occurrences and support planning of rehabilitation and training programmes. Actively contribute to player Individual Learning Plans and support the 12-week player review process. Lead on the co-ordination and delivery of the U17 and U15 cardiac screening programme as per FA / EPPP guidelines and in conjunction with the Lead Academy Physiotherapist and Academy Doctor. Optimise player availability, ensure continuity across the academy medical service, and operate at best-practice standards, providing a high level of support to our players. About The Candidate Essential Skills MSc / BSc Physiotherapy MCSP & HCPC Registration ATMMIF or able to attain. 2 – 3 years of post-graduate musculoskeletal experience. Understanding of the EPPP. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. Desirable Skills Experience working in a medical role within professional football / team sport. Post-graduate qualification in related subject Experience of working with young athletes Experience of long-term athlete development Experience of using Kitman Labs system Experience managing staff About The Club Closing date for applications is 12 noon Friday 31st January 2025.
