We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for Learning Resource Officer (LRO)-Electrical to join our Building Services team.
This role is ring-fenced to the BDC Electrical Department.
You will join us on a part-time, 1-year fixed-term basis to and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £24,853 - £26,882 pa inc London Weighting (to be pro rata'd to 0.5 FTE)
The Learning Resource Officer (LRO)-Electrical role:
The purpose of the Learning Resource Officer (LRO) - Motor Vehicle role is to provide technical support for staff and students.
Key Responsibilities of our Learning Resource Officer (LRO)-Electrical :
* Liaise closely with appropriate Curriculum Manager & Head of Department to ensure that the potholder’s support is directly relevant to the needs of the Directorate in which s/he is placed
* Prepare materials and apparatus for demonstrations and practical work including examination requirements as directed.
* Installation, checking and implementing new equipment and resources and ensuring correct operation.
* The care and maintenance of tools, tool stocks, their issue to and collection from students.
Our ideal Learning Resource Officer (LRO)-Electrical should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
* Have suitable formal qualifications in the relevant subject area up to level 2, including English and Maths
* A Level 2 IT qualification would be desirable
* Possess excellent interpersonal and team development skills and have the ability to contribute to the team and its goals. Be able to work independently and as a member of the team
* Possess good IT and administrative skills and be able to keep accurate tracking records for tools and equipment
* Be able to demonstrate use of equipment ensuring adherence to safe working practices
* Recent and relevant experience of working in a motor vehicle training centre or similar establishment or working towards level 3 qualification in relevant subject, would be desirable.
