OCU Group are currently looking for a Plant Service and Repair Engineer to join our team in Manchester, Levenshulme.
As a plant service and repair engineer, your primary responsibility will be the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a diverse fleet of construction machinery and equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, cranes, and generators. You will work either in a workshop environment or on-site, depending on the nature of the repair or service required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Diagnosing faults and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of construction plant machinery.
* Conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and operational safety.
* Performing inspections and testing of machinery to identify worn or damaged parts that require replacement.
* Completing relevant documentation and maintenance records accurately.
* Always ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Keeping up to date with technical developments and attending training sessions as required.
* Servicing and inspection of equipment
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role, preferably within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in construction machinery.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent would be advantageous.
* A valid driving license and willingness to travel to different sites as required.
