We are looking for someone with a keen interest in health inequalities and barriers to accessing healthcare services. The post holder will be responsible for researching and identifying barriers using a range of tools and datasets for the populations we serve and working with others to develop solutions and innovative practices to reduce those barriers.
You will be expected to manage delivery of specified complex project/s across all sites and areas of the organisation. These may be against a defined timescale such as implementation of the Targeted Lung Health Check programme, and/or within set budgetary limits.
Management and monitoring of progress of the Project(s) will be conducted through a relevant Project Plan, with such management and monitoring being linked to key milestones and targets, which could be set nationally and/or locally. Establishment of Project Sub-Groups including key stakeholders will be required by the post holder and they will co-ordinate the work of such Sub-Groups, monitoring the progress of their work against relevant Project Plans.
This is a new role in the Trust and encompasses a varied remit relating to cancer MDT Streamlining, cancer Pathway Analysis, health inequalities identification and implementation of the Trusts Targeted Lung Health Check project by April 2025.
Main duties of the job
Working with key stakeholders, develop and agree a clear programme plan to include implementation of Optimal pathways, Timed pathways, MDT Streamlining (including implementation of Standards of Care) and implementation of the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme with measurable outcomes and benefits to support the transformation of cancer services.
Identify and effectively engage appropriate internal and external Project stakeholders, establishing effective links for the purpose of communicating the aim(s) of the Project, creating a liaison network where necessary, and overcoming any resistance.
To obtain, create, analyse, manipulate and evaluate data from a range of sources so that information is produced to support identification of inequalities or barriers to accessing healthcare, project(s) delivery and decision making.
Responsible for ensuring an appropriate communication infrastructure, for dissemination of relevant information, both internally and externally.
Communicate progress of the Projects, measured against the Project Plan, in accordance with the required frequency. Communication could be with a range of Organisations and/or individuals, e.g. Department of Health, Board of Directors, Cancer Alliance, Macmillan, Executive Board, Corporate Directors, internal Project Board, Managers, Staff and patient groups, and facilitated through a combination of performance monitoring pro-forma, ad-hoc reports both written and verbal and appropriate presentations.

Qualifications and Training

* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Project Management knowledge, techniques and tools, either acquired through a postgraduate qualification (e.g. PRINCE II) or via experience of managing and completing complex projects.
Desirable
* Educated to Masters level, including modules in managing change.
