SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen, supporting students aged 10-19 with complex needs including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related conditions.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' learning, well-being, and personal development in a safe and nurturing environment. You will work alongside the class teacher to create and deliver tailored learning activities, while fostering independence, positive behaviour, and social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
2. Provide feedback on student progress and attainment.
3. Help monitor and report on students' development, ensuring alignment with school policies.
4. Support positive behaviour management, adapting to individual student needs.
5. Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural growth in line with the school's curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications:
6. Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
7. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport on a rota basis).
8. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
9. Level 2 or above qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
10. A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection.
11. Ability to adapt creatively and positively to meet individual student needs.
