We are seeking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and proactive Research Project Coordinator to join the Adolescent Oncology group in The Division of Cancer Sciences in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH).
The main purpose of this role will be to co-ordinate the effective delivery of the late cognitive effects and imaging changes after proton radiotherapy study which is part of the BRAINatomy 2 research programme and to support patients recruited to the study. You will work alongside senior research project colleagues and support the wider research team to deliver the research programme.
The post will act as the first point of contact for the research study at The University of Manchester and the postholder will be embedded in the clinical Proton Therapy Team to facilitate the coordination of the project. You will act as liaison between the NHS Proton Therapy Unit at The Christie, study participants, academic colleagues based in Manchester, and teams at participating sites in The Netherlands.
The post holder should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of working with the NHS and patients and patient advocates/families and be able to use your own initiative. You should have some knowledge and an understanding of research governance processes within both academic and NHS settings and be able to manage busy workloads and prioritise to meet strict deadlines which will mean being flexible and responsive.
