The King Group of Companies has been providing transport equipment solutions for more than 60 years, now part of the Martin Group of Companies. King’s client base includes blue chip companies in the defence, energy, and highways sectors.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a wide range of duties within the King Trailers site at Market Harborough (Leicestershire), including Stores Stock Control and Yard duties.
The post holder will be required to be physically fit and be able to drive a forklift and a tug (necessary training provided). The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others, and the security of the yard and the vehicles / equipment within.
The Role:
1. Working to ensure the availability and accessibility of materials / plant for site-based operatives.
2. To operate machinery in a safe manner and strictly in accordance with Health and Safety Executive and King Trailers Safety at Work policies and generic / site specific risk assessments, including reporting any unsafe operations.
3. Responsibility for yard security / maintenance and correct usage / care of machinery and equipment.
4. Stock Control, including off-loading deliveries, checking of documentation, storing, and acknowledging receipt of materials.
5. Working closely with the Stores Manager for On-time and accurately Picking Kits for Production and delivering accordingly.
6. Ensure all Yard stock items are picked via a FIFO stocking policy.
7. Issuing product off the Kings Stock Control system.
8. To suggest improvements and changes which can be made in his / her own area of work.
9. Complete all written documentation as required.
Key skills/experience:
10. Current Forklift licence. (qualification / experience an advantage but training can be given)
11. Tug operation (experience an advantage but training can be given)
12. Used to working in an outdoor environment and capable of working in a physically demanding job.
13. High Level of attention to detail.
14. Computer Literate. (booking stock in and out)
15. Good communication skills – able to communicate both written and verbally in English.
16. Self-motivation
17. Positive attitude.
18. Reliable and good timekeeper.
19. Able to work on their own initiative and as part of a small team.
