The ideal candidate will be located in Bracknell, Maidenhead, High Wycombe, Hemel Hempstead, Guildford, or Oxford.
Hours: Average 45 hours per week, normal working hours between 0600-1800 Hrs Mon-Fri.
Job Summary:
Are you an ex-military professional seeking a rewarding career transition? As a Mechanical Field Service Technician, you will leverage your military experience to excel in a dynamic civilian role. You'll be responsible for attending commercial sites, conducting mechanical inspections, performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and executing remedial works. Additionally, you'll complete all necessary reports and certificates related to your tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
* Utilise your military background to liaise effectively with the Team Manager and customers, providing exceptional service and technical support, and identifying new opportunities.
* Maintain an updated schedule of work, holidays, and sickness, communicating effectively with the Team Manager.
* Ensure timely completion and submission of all relevant paperwork, maintaining high standards of professionalism.
* Provide feedback to the Team Manager and Sales team, contributing to business growth.
* Participate in audits and site inspections, upholding standards.
* Manage health and safety issues related to yourself and subcontractors, prioritising well-being.
* Conduct routine maintenance on industrial boiler fuelling equipment and control systems, addressing issues promptly.
* Handle client information confidentially, demonstrating integrity.
* Undertake additional work or activities within the business as needed.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years in a mechanical engineering environment, preferably transitioning from military service.
* Experience in hazardous areas, fuel installations, and tank inspections is advantageous.
Skills:
* Apply IT skills for online certifications and worksheets.
* Manage tasks effectively, leveraging organisational skills from military experience.
* Exhibit strong customer-facing and communication skills.
* Recognise and seize business opportunities.
* Willingness to travel to client sites.
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Modern Apprenticeship, C&G Mechanical Engineering, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
* Optional certifications: CompEx 11, electrical qualifications, OFTEC 600A, Confined Space, Working at Heights.
* Valid driving licence required.
* SC, DV, DBS clearance, and a clean criminal record required.
