About the opportunity: Amentum Defence and Asset Solutions have some exciting opportunities and are looking for talented and enthusiastic Head of Project controls, who is keen to cement our existing expertise in delivering projects to our key clients and encouraging the growth of our business in this sector. Reporting to the Head of PMO and Reporting, you will be an influential member of the Defence and Asset Solutions Division. The purpose of this role is to assist the Head of PMO and Reporting and Sub-Divisions in delivering projects on time and to budget, through attention to detail and the application of Amentum standard processes and best practice techniques. Responsibilities will include: - Accountability for the Project Controls Community of over 40 professionals. You will provide strategic oversight of the capability and tools of the discipline, including the deployment of the team to drive value for our Clients, and development opportunities for our people - Identify and develop opportunities to introduce solutions to drive efficiencies both internally, and for Clients - Technical Oversight and Assurance to projects within the Subdivisions, through insight at Operational Project Reviews and Project Administration Reviews, providing guidance and support as required - Measure and drive the application of existing IT Systems and Tools on the project and monitor compliance - Lead the development and implementation of sophisticated analytics platforms to monitor project performance - Develop and oversee robust, integrated project plans that ensure scalability and adaptability - Establish standardised procedures to ensure precision in cost estimation, forecasting, and reporting - Monitor and provide support to achieve compliance with corporately mandated processes; such as Revenue Recognition - Work with Finance Business Partner to co-produce the Quarterly Forecasts and variance analysis against Business Plan - Work closely with D&AS leads regarding financial issues/information on projects - Promote and share best practice and LFE, line managing the Project Controls managers within the Operating Unit whilst provide technical oversight and assurance through Peer Assist Reviews - Provide subject matter expert (SME) support on high profile projects - Support pricing development on major pursuits Here's What You'll Need: - Ability to obtain SC Clearance - At least 10 years' demonstrated experience in project controls, and successfully managing multidisciplinary PC teams, including Risk. - Excellent organisational and leadership skills; team building and staff development skills - Passionate about implementing innovation, and driving the discipline forward - Preferably degree qualified or equivalent professional qualifications in relevant discipline, and preferably a member of an appropriate professional body - Nuclear, Defence or similar highly regulated sector experience - Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, and work collaboratively across all levels - Knowledge of project controls policies and processes; advanced knowledge in the use of project controls principals with strong oral/written communication and presentation skills - Proactive and responsive approach are key.
