Key Accountabilities
* Compile Practice management accounts, budgets, and quarterly forecasts, along with commentaries & associated reporting.
* Deep understanding and analysis of productivity reporting on a weekly, monthly basis, with a focus on non-productive time.
* Work with practice directors to highlight gaps in workload. Highlight anomalies and errors for resolution.
* Review and proactively resolve issues relating to missing time and associated earnings.
* Effectively communicate reason for variances in volumes, returns and absence profiles of staff.
* Thorough review of overheads and proactive challenge and resolution of issues and errors.
* Understand, monitor, and communicate key drivers behind the salary control account process.
* Preparation of Flash reporting on a weekly basis.
* Active communication and reviews with the Senior FC for the Practices and the Practice management.
* Oversee quarterly Practice forecast and associated reporting and engage with the resourcing and workplan process.
* Ad hoc projects and support to the Senior Financial Controller.
Professional & Technical skills
* 6+ years of experience working in the accounting function of a sizeable international company.
* Technically proficient in preparing and reviewing management accounts, budget and forecasts.
* Good inter-personal skills and comfortable in dealing with senior colleagues.
* Experience in working for a consultancy business, especially an engineering consultancy, would be a significant advantage.
* Knowledge and experience of the following would be an advantage: JD Edwards; Oracle ERP; Oracle EPM (ePBCS).
* Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and exposure to Power BI.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize own workload.
* Strong sense of ownership, drive and ability to deliver results.
* Great attention to detail.
* Good team player with positive attitude.
* Strong planning and problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze information and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
* Part qualified CA, CMA, ACCA.
* Bachelor's degree – Preferably B-Com / Master’s degree.
