Description Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Civil Engineer to join us based at site in Fife, Scotland. This is a full-time contract position and will support our projects in the UK. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and have experience within the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG or Power Generation industry. Previous experience in a similar position would be highly beneficial. Hybrid working is available for this position. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Review Civil Contractor’s Site Inspection, Test & Quality Plan and provide feedback and comments on content and suggest Hold Points Undertake site inspections at defined Hold Points (ongoing throughout civil works) Prepare Site Inspection Reports Site Visit during key stages Review Civil Contractor TQ’s and provide technical feedback / comment Support site with preparation of any Civils based TQ’s Work with Civils lead to close out TQs. Review / audit Civil Contractor’s Handover folders Provide feedback and comments on content General correspondence / liaison with Wood / Client and take part in key construction meetings including, constructability and readiness reviews Review of Civils tender submission and proposed scope durations Prepare Tender Bid Analysis report. Review Civil Contractor’s monthly valuation submissions Verify valuation and feedback / comment on submission Review proposed construction schedule and provide feedback and comments on schedule (e.g. hold points for inspections & time for remedials, prior to pour) Progress reporting of civil works v’s construction schedule Support complex temporary work Design briefs Regular site visits and provide support / guidance to the Wood Project Construction manager with the management of Civils contractor and scope Support Plans and Estimates Qualifications Qualifications: Engineering Degree in relevant subject Chartered Engineer status preferable Experience and good understanding UK national and international codes and standards
