Kat at Aspire People is recruiting on behalf of her client school, who is seeking to employ a SEND experienced Learning Support Assistant or Cover Supervisor.
What skills and experience we're looking for:
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the growing SEN team at a highly-regarded High School, in Cheadle Stockport. In this rewarding role, you'll play a vital part in supporting students with a variety of learning needs. You'll work alongside teachers to provide one-on-one or small group support, and empower students to reach their full potential.
The school provide a cutting-edge SEND provision that has a positive impact on their young people, and we are currently looking to recruit caring and dedicated individuals to join their SEND team.
You will play a vital role in enhancing students progress whilst promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. A comprehensive offer of professional learning is in place and they ensure that they have designated work spaces for staff. A broad range of training in SEND is in place, focused on whole school SEND issues as well as specific training for SEND teams.

This position is contracted on a 31 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37out of 52 weeks.
Job Purpose:
- Work with Teachers to enhance student progress, whilst also promoting their independence, self esteem and Social inclusion.
- Support identified students within the classroom environment, within small group situations and on a one to one basis
Key Skills and Experiences:
- Sound Educational background including GCSE's in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
- Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable and/or who have a special educational needs
- Experience working in a school environment would be an advantage
