Job Title: Assistant Retail Store Manager
Hours: 39 hours per week
Shift Patterns: 5 days out of 7 (Weekend work included)
An excellent opportunity has presented itself to join our client, an industry leader in the fashion sector, as their Assistant Retail Store Manager. You will join the management team, reporting to the Retail Store Manager.
As the Assistant Retail Store Manager, you will maximise business profitability by optimising sales opportunities while managing day-to-day operations. You will deliver excellent customer service through staff training and leading by example.
Primary Responsibilities
Increasing Store Profitability & Sales
1. Monitor store performance daily, weekly, and monthly, providing reports and updates to assist the store manager in improving sales.
2. Utilise KPIs to enhance store performance and sales.
3. Maintain awareness of store performance metrics such as customer footfall, conversion, and average spend.
4. Show initiative in product placement and prioritise concession.
5. Ensure staff are consistently aware of sales targets and expectations.
6. Train staff on visual merchandising.
7. Ensure sales floor layout reflects company guidelines to encourage customer flow and create sales opportunities.
Customer Service
1. Demonstrate good customer awareness and interaction, setting the standard for the store.
2. Monitor and seek continuous improvement in service levels.
3. Constantly improve product knowledge among staff and yourself.
4. Line manage store assistants.
Staff Management
1. Assist the store manager in recruiting staff, ensuring recruitment remains within budget.
2. Assist with onboarding and inducting new staff in line with company expectations.
3. Monitor, review, and appraise individuals, identifying those with potential for development.
4. Set and implement clear work objectives to effectively deploy team members for the commercial benefit of the branch.
5. Maintain and enhance successful business relationships.
Experience & Requirements
1. Previous experience as a retail supervisor/manager, preferably within fashion.
2. Experience supervising teams.
3. Confident in supervising small teams and ensuring optimal performance.
4. Flexible to work weekends and longer shifts as required.
5. Willing to be contracted for 39 hours per week, with shift flexibility.
6. Proficient in administration, reporting, and health & safety.
7. Experience in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing staff.
