Merton College seeks to appoint an Assistant Organist to support its renowned choral programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Merton College Choir, Girls’ Choir, and esteemed musicians in a vibrant and historic setting.

Merton College is home to one of Oxford’s leading choral foundations. The Choir has an outstanding reputation, with international tours, BBC broadcasts, and award-winning recordings. The College Chapel, renowned for its exceptional acoustics, regularly hosts prestigious performances. With excellent facilities, including two organs and multiple practice spaces, Merton provides a dynamic environment for musicians to develop their craft.

What we are looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent organist with a growing repertoire. We seek a highly skilled organist with strong accompaniment and sight-reading abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for working with choirs. Experience with choir training and working with children is highly desirable. The successful candidate must be adaptable, well-organised, and committed to musical excellence in a collegiate and liturgical setting.
