Opportunity Summary: As a Fast Tracker - Supervisor Trainee, you will learn to be responsible for all aspects of maintenance around converting or corrugating equipment. You will follow L&D and OPS resources to train our union team members and document the results. We are always responsible for our maintenance team's safety, quality, and performance. You will identify opportunities within the department to improve performance and execution, coordinate and manage preventative and repair efforts of the hourly team, and lead efforts to improve equipment uptime. This is an hourly non-union role.
Your Responsibilities Include:
1. Assessing technical talent on the team and making recommendations where to put training resources to improve equipment uptime.
2. Leveraging our L&D team to help develop plans for hourly techs to get to the next level, using internal and external resources.
3. Following L&D guidelines to train hourly techs on specific maintenance tasks and documenting the results.
4. Assisting, when necessary, with daily work orders, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs.
5. Helping hire a best-in-class maintenance team.
6. Becoming a JDE subject matter expert.
7. Managing technician performance and downtime of machines by troubleshooting and preventing issues that could cause downtime or breaks and resolving issues in a timely fashion, and coaching them to complete repairs themselves.
8. Coaching our team to ensure equipment downtime is fully utilized and scheduled to optimize the maintenance work that can be performed while the machine is down.
9. Assisting with accident/incident investigation for any incidents that occur in the department.
10. Setting an example by utilizing and helping to enforce the Maintenance Department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
11. Establishing and following up on individual goals and evaluating work performance for direct reports.
12. Developing effective partnerships with plant hourly employees to improve overall plant production to help them troubleshoot equipment.
13. Assisting with the review and updating of department training material.
What You Need to Succeed:
1. High School diploma or G.E.D.
2. 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
3. Proven supervisory track record.
4. Demonstrated leadership ability.
5. A high regard for safety.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills leveraged to motivate stakeholders and achieve alignment across the organization.
7. Ability to learn proprietary software programs.
