If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you About the Role: As a Missing From Home Intervention Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and advocacy for children and young people who have been reported missing. Your primary responsibilities will include: Conducting Return Home Interviews: Engage with children and young people to understand the reasons behind their missing episodes and ensure their voices are heard. Influencing Care Planning: Record and analyze the factors impacting the child or young person to contribute to effective care planning. Providing Independent Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of children during and after missing episodes. Collaborating with Partners: Work closely with social workers, police, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated response. Educating and Preventing: Advise young people on the dangers and risks associated with running away, aiming to prevent future incidents. Key Responsibilities: Engage proactively with young people who run away. Maintain accurate records and monitor service activity. Ensure the needs of children and their families are met by service providers. Represent the service positively in various environments. Promote the use of Young Peoples Centres by other agencies and local partners. What We’re Looking For: Qualifications: Level 3 Safeguarding/Designated Safeguard Lead Training or equivalent, and a good standard of general education including English and Maths at Level 2. Experience: Proven experience working with children and young people, particularly those at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and those reluctant to engage. Skills: Ability to build positive relationships, produce high-standard written material, and engage and motivate young people. Knowledge: Understanding of the causes of youth crime, anti-social behavior, and other adverse outcomes for young people. Personal Attributes: Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. Flexible and willing to work according to the needs of the council.
