We are recruiting for a Pupil Welfare Officer to join a committed and hardworking team, who work for schools to support their work around attendance and safeguarding. This post includes working with families to improve outcomes by visiting them in their home environment to collate information for assessments and for appropriate interventions. This role involves helping families and young people identify how to ensure good school attendance, whilst giving clear advice about legislation and school attendance and being prepared to enforce the legal process when appropriate. Being willing and confident to challenge and support families and professionals, having clear and concise records of intervention and being able to prepare and give evidence in magistrates court are essential in this role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established team.
