Experienced Social Worker – Grade: 12 - £47,040- £49,083
If you are a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England with a minimum of 2 years post qualification /ASYE experience and supervisory experience, why not come and join our exciting team working with older people in Croydon? We need a committed and knowledgeable social worker to help us with our core business – empowering and supporting people who need signposting, community support, or even some direct help from the Council.
Our vacancy rates are low, and we rarely use agency staff, preferring to concentrate our efforts on looking after our permanent staff. This includes having a dedicated training officer supporting adult social care and health, and a Principal Social Worker to support staff’s welfare and practice. As an Experienced Social Worker, you are expected to have at least 2 years post qualifying experience with supervisory skills and be prepared to take on supervision and support of social workers and health and wellbeing assessors.
You will work with other professionals in an integrated service providing strengths-based assessments to promote independence and support people to remain living in their own homes. You will form part of the duty rota to allocate work and provide professional support and guidance to other staff on duty within the team.
Must be a car driver with full British Drivers Licence
Applicants wishing to join our aspiring and progressive adult social care and health department will have a commitment to team working and an enthusiasm for contributing to sharing ideas that support the development of all our services. Candidates will demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and drive in their approach to person-centred practice and problem solving, and an ability to work flexibly in response to a rapidly changing public service environment.
Croydon Council has one of the best benefits schemes in Local Government, from childcare vouchers, flexible working and generous annual leave entitlement to high street shopping vouchers and fantastic health and leisure discounts. We encourage development and invest heavily in helping you excel and achieve your full potential.
We will interview within two weeks of the closing date 12/09/2024 with a view to starting workers as soon as possible, subject to Human Resources checks.
