Job overview
We are looking for a compassionate highly motivated Early Pregnancy nurse to join our team. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for caring for women undergoing a range of early pregnancy complications and gynaecology issues. To help and support senior nurses and health care assistants to run a busy Outpatient Early Pregnancy Unit, seeing approximately 20-40 patients a day. Understand their care options, help advocate for the care they are entitled to, and give information on possible lifestyle changes and treatment options.
You will be working alongside a supportive and committed team. The service ethos is to provide time-critical rapid assessment of women working in close liaison with our ED, Gynae Doctors, GPs, Midwives, and community providers.
Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To work within the Early Pregnancy Unit/Emergency Gynaecology Unit delivering high quality care and support to women.
2. To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care with supervision from senior staff.
3. To support the Charge Nurse/Senior Sister to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients.
4. To help in the management of running a busy clinic.
5. To ensure the compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirements for delegated Healthcare Assistants.
6. To ensure a positive focused service incorporating patients’ feedback to maintain and improve patient care.
7. To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
You will familiarise yourself with the Trust’s data protection policy which sets out its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation and all other data protection legislation.
You must always comply with the Trust’s data protection policy, and you agree that you will only access the systems, databases or networks to which you have been given authorisation.
