Fire Protection Yorkshire is a trusted provider of fire safety and electrical services across West Yorkshire. We specialize in delivering high-quality installations, maintenance, and repairs for fire alarm systems and emergency lighting. With our business rapidly expanding, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting Electrician to join our growing team. This role begins as part-time, with guaranteed hours, and offers the potential to transition into a permanent, full-time position.
Job Responsibilities
As a Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting Electrician, your key duties will include:
* Installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems and emergency lighting, primarily involving like-for-like fittings, in compliance with BS 5839-1 and BS 5266-1 standards.
* Conducting routine inspections and testing to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Troubleshooting and efficiently resolving faults in fire safety systems.
* Offering technical advice to clients and recommending system improvements.
* Working both independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on time, to specification, and to a high standard.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Essential:
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
* City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing) certification.
* Proven experience with fire alarm systems and emergency lighting installations and maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of BS 5839-1 and BS 5266-1 standards.
* Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
* FIA (Fire Industry Association) certifications or similar qualifications.
* Experience with both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
* Knowledge of additional fire protection systems, such as smoke ventilation or sprinklers.
