Our Group Head Office, located in Newcastle upon Tyne, is recruiting for an Apprentice Commercial Systems Surveyor.
How does the apprenticeship programme work?
Our exciting and innovative Apprenticeship Programmes are designed to attract and develop a diverse range of talented individuals who will contribute to the continued growth and success of our business. You will be studying towards a degree level qualification in Construction Quantity Surveying, delivered by Northumbria University. Alongside your day-to-day role, you will be allocated one day per week to attend online sessions and work on your qualification, attending Northumbria University in person on a block release basis per semester (3 times per academic year). All travel and accommodation required will be provided by Bellway.
After two years on programme as an apprentice, you will be an Assistant Commercial Systems Quantity Surveyor and on completion of the four-year programme, you will be a qualified Quantity Surveyor. As part of Bellway’s structured pay scale over the duration of the higher-level apprenticeship, you will earn planned salary increments to enhance your earning potential (dependent on individual performance and other contributory factors).
Upon completion of the programme, subject to business need and performance, you may have the opportunity to continue your future with Bellway, where Commercial career paths may include:
* Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Commercial Manager
* Head of Commercial
* Commercial Director
The Role
As an Apprentice Commercial Systems Surveyor, you will work as part of the Group Commercial Systems Department. Our Group Commercial team specialises in managing the commercial aspect of Bellway's Commercial System Product (COINS). The team maintains the COINS platform including internal system configuration, enhancements, testing & deployment. They are the single point of call for Commercial (COINS) training and act as the escalation point for all divisional issues. The team oversees commercial data across all divisions and working with the Group Commercial team ensures best practice and business processes are followed.
Some key responsibilities of the role include:
* Provide Commercial support on the COINS platform to Group Commercial, Group Support function and Divisions
* Deliver training and skills transfer to users including; new starters, on system enhancements, changes, coupled with providing regular refresher training as deemed necessary
* Support the Head of Commercial Systems to maintain all standard documentation both off-line, within the COINS platform and all associated systems including local intranet
* Support testing of COINS, principal Bellway Commercial System product and associated systems/software changes/upgrades as directed by the Head of Commercial Systems
* Complete pro-active Divisional data checks, assist divisions to apply fixes, and provide solutions and training to resolve divisional issues
* Use best practice and system functionality knowledge to support development with Group Commercial Processes, as directed
* Working with Support, become a super user for AI testing automation
* Be an active contributor to the wider Group Commercial team
* Contribute to the effective administration and Implementation of Group Commercial policies

In addition to this, we are looking for apprentices with GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C, or above, and 112 UCAS Tariff points from a combination of any of the below:
* Level 3 qualifications which may include: A-levels, BTEC Diplomas/Extended Diplomas, Scottish and Irish Highers, Access to HE Diplomas or the International Baccalaureate
* A related Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, or those with non-standard qualifications
You must also:
* Have a willingness to travel around the UK and stay away from home for short periods of time
* There is a requirement for one weekend of working per year during the annual platform upgrade, to test functionality in the new upgraded environment. This time will be returned in lieu.
* Have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
* Be able to prove your eligibility to work in the UK
The Recruitment Process

Video Interview: Successful applicants will be invited to complete a Video Interview. This is a one-way video interview that you can record in your own time.
Assessment Centre: the final stage in the process is a half-day virtual assessment centre where you will complete a presentation, team activity and competency-based interview.
