As a receptionist, you will support GP practices on a sessional basis during practice opening hours and be the first point of contact for patients. Main duties of the job
* Reception Duties - Effective communication skills, signposting and handling patient queries both face to face and via telephone.
* Manage Appointments - Booking and cancelling appointments for patients.
* Administration and Filing - Assisting patients with paperwork, registration and record management.
* Scanning, coding and summarising - upon request.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent.
* Patient or customer facing experience is essential.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong IT skills, including typing and use of Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel).
* Previous administration experience.
* Working knowledge of EMIS.

COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Excellent communication skills with all staff including Practice Managers and Partners, Flexible Workforce Hub Team (CBC Workforce Solutions), and local general practices. Ability to deal with difficult situations professionally.
PERSONAL AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
The post-holder will participate in any training implemented by CBC Workforce Solutions as part of their employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Frequent use of VDU.
* Occasionally exposed to verbal/violence and aggression.
* Face to face direct patient interaction.
* Working autonomously and as part of a team.
* Regular interruptions when concentrating.
* Competing priorities and time constraints.
* May need to move around 1 or more facilities frequently.
* May be asked to work outside of "normal hours" including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as the service needs.
