We are specialists in offering expertise in underwriting, broking and capacity management for US Excess and Surplus (E&S) lines insurance solutions. The unique combination of broking and underwriting divisions provides the ability to quote and bind risks through in-house binding authorities, while providing customers with access to Lloyd’s, London Market companies, and Munich Re owned capacity in Germany and the US.
Your role will be to assist with all administrative tasks in relation to the underwriting of Transactional risks written within the Direct Underwriting Division, including the underwriting of Mid Term Adjustments, handling of post, binders, and the issuing of quotes as directed by Underwriters, along with any ad-hoc duties as requested.
Responsibilities
* Undertake administrative duties related to the underwriting of new and renewal business using the relevant B&C policy administrative or rating systems.
* Train peers as requested by any Head of Department/Supervisor.
* Invest in continuous improvement within Bell and Clements and propose suggestions for advancing internal processes and the customer journey to your line manager.
* Peer review the work of other team members.
* Underwrite Mid Term Adjustments and handle related post items.
* Engage with external clients professionally and take ownership of resolving queries to a satisfactory close, utilizing internal relationships where necessary.
* Work within your personal authority level and engage with higher authority holders for sign-off where appropriate.
* Actively work to increase your personal authority.
* Adhere to all internal service level agreements, ensuring prompt turnaround of all post-related queries and keeping external clients informed of developments and expected timeframes.
* Assist the Supervisor in monitoring agreed service levels for teamwork items, allocating work to team members and the Underwriting Operations Team as necessary.
* Assist with the production of reports for management.
* Ensure that all mandatory training is completed within deadlines.
* Assist with any project work as requested.
* Provide necessary support to the Chief Underwriting Officer, Head of Direct Underwriting, and Heads of Teams as required.
* Awareness of FCA rules pertinent to the role.

This position is offered on a Permanent basis. Annual salary will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. Annual leave is 25 days per year (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service.
