About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Community Access Service as a Community Support Worker.
In this role you’ll be working supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions to lead full and purposeful lives, and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in facilitating opportunities and partnership work, and your skills in co-production.
This Role is a community-based role. 80% of your week will be spent in the community supporting people in different settings.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The service focuses on enabling our service users (residents) to become active citizens in their community, empowering them to achieve their goals and develop their social skills.
We deliver a range of projects, activities/outings and community-based drop in’s during the day, evenings and weekends, as well as virtual sessions and online support using Zoom.
Some Of The Co-produced Opportunities We Provide Include:
* Our Drop-in and advocacy services.
* Animal Care and conservation group.
* Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Drama, Dance
* Health and Wellbeing Awareness.
* Cultural Awareness Celebrations & Festivals.
* Sports/Athletics, Self Defence, Swimming, Companion Cycling and Yoga.
* Social outings – free jumping, amusement parks, cultural and historical visits, meals out.
* Online Zoom Sessions- cookery, exercise, speaking up groups.
We are looking for a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. The successful applicant will support local Hounslow residents to access various community-based activities using person centred approaches with clear pathways for residents to progress towards independence. About You

* You will have experience of working with people with learning disabilities and an understanding of the barriers people with disabilities face in relation to accessing community activities and public transport.
* A good understanding and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and adults at risk.
* Good communication and IT skills, with knowledge of reporting procedures and the development of clear and innovative strategies to overcome barriers.
* You are physically fit and self-motivated, flexible and organised and you are confident to be able to lone work in the community, whilst managing own workload.
* Can inspire people to explore new opportunities, access local resources, identify areas which enable people to flourish.
Qualifications:
* Relevant Health and Social Care qualification (desirable).
* Maths/ English Grade C or above at GCSE (essential).
