Platform Resourcing are currently working with a supply chain company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Junior IT Technician based in Nelson. The company is very well established, family run, and they take great care of each and every staff member, supplying parts worldwide, with regular clients based as far as Australia.
In this role, you will be provided with full training to familiarise yourself with the business’ website, equipment, databases and team members. You will manage the company website, frequently updating part and component numbers on to the website for global customers to be able to view and place orders. This will be a varied role including hardware & software installation, minor repairs and upkeep of staff IT equipment, also assisting the warehouse team with stock updates, removal of sold products from the website, with a view of progressing your career over time.
You MUST have a full and clean driving license.

IT Technician Responsibilities and Duties:
* Managing, making changes to, and updating the company website, as well as internal databases.
* Uploading part numbers of all components received onto the company website accurately, as they will be viewed by customers worldwide.
* Ensuring all data both on the website and internal database is kept up to date and completely accurate, paying great attention to detail when entering any information.
* Assisting other staff members with general IT queries, computer maintenance and basic repairs.
* Completing software, equipment and hardware installation when needed.
* Minor repair of any equipment necessary.
* Assisting the dispatch team with the receipt and logging of inventorying after deliveries are received.
* Working with the warehouse team to ensure all customer orders are dispatched on time in accordance with customer requirements
* Immediate removal of successfully sold parts and components advertised on the company website.
* Assisting procurements with stock level management, monitoring when supplies are running low, ensuring the team replenishes supplies needed.
* A delivery rotation is operated between colleagues in the office, meaning that you will be expected to do 1-3 short deliveries per week to local customers in South Wales. You will drive the company van and will be automatically insured on the vehicle.
* Any other ad-hoc duties as required
IT Technician Essential Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
* Candidate should have either a degree qualification in an IT related subject, or relevant training in a non-university setting, or a portfolio of projects/completed works demonstrating your development capabilities.
* Able to work independently on projects set by the Managing Director.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Confident and able to liaise with team members, building strong relationships.
* Experience of website management and development.
* Being excellent with numbers, accuracy and attention to detail.
* Having an interest in technology, wanting to grow your knowledge, taking onboard training courses that will be provided to better your career.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Self-motivated and adaptable to the changing needs of the business and its customers.
