Job Title: Payroll Officer
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Location: Newport
Hours: Monday - Friday (Flexible hours: 9am - 5pm, 8:30am - 4:30pm, or 8am - 4pm)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to assist the Payroll Manager in running a diverse client payroll portfolio. You will be responsible for processing payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
Main Duties:
Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls for clients with employee counts ranging from 1 to 150 using Sage Payroll.
Managing BACS payments through third-party payment mandates.
Submitting all HMRC returns accurately and on time.
Uploading pension data to appropriate pension providers.
Completing year-end payroll submissions.
Handling client payroll queries efficiently and professionally.
Providing holiday cover for the Payroll Manager.
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years of experience processing multiple client payrolls in a Bureau environment.
Experience using Sage Payroll (essential).
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with other payroll software, such as Xero (desirable).
Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and suppliers effectively.
Prior experience in an Accountancy Practice Payroll role (desirable).
