Job summary A speciality Training Programme Director (TPD) is a member of the Speciality Training Committee (STC). The TPD is managerially responsible to the Postgraduate Dean for the delivery of SAS educational programme in the Region according to the standards set by the Specialist Training Committee for SAS / LED. Main duties of the job The TPD will manage and oversee SAS development and support educational development programmes in the Region on behalf of the STC and the Associate Postgraduate Dean for SAS & LEDs. Member STC Member SAS & LED Board Developing Regional educational training programme for the financial year. The programme is ratified by the STC annually. Manage SAS doctors funding for individual development. This includes review of all applications from the Trusts and allocation of funds in line with NHSE study leave policy for trainees. Regional Trust funding is agreed and allocated by NHSE EoE based on an Activity and Budget Planner and managed by the TPD. The funding is used for local education and training events at the Trusts. This process is aligned with the annual development planning process used by Specialty Schools. TPD will oversee the process and present the Trust bids to STC for approval. 8. Support the Associate Dean for SAS/LEDs to review innovation and quality improvement project funding. The funds will be approved by the STC. 9. NHSE EoE offers a number of developmental webinars and workshops as part of the SAS Doctor's Development Programme.These sessions focus on topics identified in the annual SAS Survey or on the Activity and Budget planners submitted by the SAS Tutors. TPD manages development and delivery of SAS Doctor's Development Programme. The programme is developed early in the financial year and is approved by the STC. 10. TPD will promote educational activities using NHSE EoE Blended Learning Platforms. 11. Annual SAS Survey and presenting its finding to STC is a key responsibility. NHSE EOE is keen to encourage wellbeing activity for SAS doctors and SAS TPD is expected to organise activities that include promoting wellbeing for SAS doctors. Support SAS doctors with career, training or developmental needs. Advice to the Postgraduate Dean/Senior Leadership Team as requested. Ensure that there is a programme of SAS Tutor Regional Training Days. Other roles that may become necessary.
