Duties and responsibilities related to the Pastry Sous Chef role
1. Work closely with the Pastry Chef to develop and implement menus and recipes, assisting in the creation of new pastry items and regularly reviewing and adapting menu offerings.
2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen, ensuring efficiency and high-quality standards
3. Ensure consistency in the production and presentation of all pastry items by conducting regular taste tests and quality checks, while implementing and enforcing hygiene and food safety standards in the pastry kitchen.
4. Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels, monitor and control costs to minimize waste and optimize budget use.
5. Assist the Pastry Chef in supervising and guiding pastry colleagues, providing training and support as needed, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
About you
Previous experience in a similar role is essential, withthe ability to motivate and inspire a team. You will have excellent knowledge of food trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
