Job Description
Our client is looking for a proactive and dedicated Sales Advisor to join their busy and dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with the team to maintain and develop depot sales, enhance customer relationships, and contribute to the overall success of the department.
Job Responsibilities:
* Answer all incoming telephone calls (both internal and external), take ownership of calls, and provide solutions to customer queries.
* Achieve individual daily sales and profit targets through value-added selling, upselling, and identifying opportunities to maximise sales while enhancing customer relationships.
* Serve customers at the front counter and ensure they receive the correct parts and assistance.
* Carry out warehouse housekeeping tasks, including organising parts, checking off deliveries, and maintaining stock accuracy.
* Deliver parts and attachments to customers in an efficient and safe manner, ensuring that customer needs are met promptly.
* Maintain correct van stock and ensure all parts taken from stock are invoiced before removal, keeping physical stock aligned with the system.
* Efficiently process customer orders received in person, by phone, post, or via sales staff.
* Suggest product alternatives and actively pursue add-on sales to maximise revenue. Proactively generate additional telephone sales, especially during quieter periods.
* Cultivate customer business across all product ranges, achieve individual and depot profit targets, and contribute to promotional offers to maximise sales.
* Ensure adherence to company policy on cash, cheque, and credit card transactions, as well as strict adherence to credit control procedures.
* Complete all necessary paperwork and administration tasks accurately, effectively, and within deadlines.
* Be familiar with the full range of parts and use catalogues and price lists to identify the correct parts to meet customer requirements.
* Assist with periodic stock checks and maintain up-to-date price lists.
* Safely operate a forklift truck when required.
* Ensure all work practices are carried out in line with the company’s Health and Safety Policy.
* Contribute to the success of the department through teamwork, good communication, and proactive engagement with all departments.
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the depot and warehouse areas.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a parts sales or customer service role.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Proactive attitude with the ability to identify sales opportunities.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Clean driving license (essential).
* Knowledge of the parts industry and mechanical products.
* Ability to handle cash, cheque, and credit card transactions following company procedures.
