Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Chef Manager to join our team at Fulwood Juniors, Preston PR2 8AA.
The Chef Manager will oversee all aspects of catering operations within the Officers and Junior Messes. This role involves managing a small team of staff, ensuring all menus are following the desired specs and maintaining high-quality standards. You will be responsible for daily operational oversight, staff management and delivering an outstanding client experience. This is a hands on chef position.

To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements: you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have legal right to work in the UK and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
What do we offer:
- This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, (shift pattern, 5 days over 7 including weekends). An 8-hour shift pattern with shifts ranging between 06:00 and 20:00, leaving your evenings free

A day in the life of a Chef Manager:
- Lead the culinary operation & provide support for 2 catered locations.
- Arrange on and off duties for a small contingent of staff ensuring your team has a great work/life balance and arrange rotas and manage cover for holidays.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems and monitor production practices.
- Occasional function work and planning.
- Cooking and preparing food ready for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
- Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence.
- Assisting with deliveries and stock checks.
- Completing and delegating kitchen and front of house tasks to ensure legal compliance.
- Management of production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage.
You will be set up for success if you have:
- Previous experience in a similar contract catering environment.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
- IT skills, great technical communication, and Microsoft packages experience.
- Good knowledge of food production methods, keeping up to date with new methods.
- Extensive knowledge on Allergens and the impact/awareness needed.
- Impeccable leadership skills.
The ability to be thorough, paying attention to detail and organising your time and workload effectively.
