Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative registered nurse to join the Occupational Health team and be involved in providing a proactive Occupational Health service to all the staff at UHD and a number of external clients.
The Occupational Health nurse will work autonomously in clinics and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to deliver a comprehensive Occupational Health service that meets the health and wellbeing needs of the Trust and external contracts.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of occupational health work relevant to the banding, including pre-employment and fitness to assessments, immunisation programmes, health surveillance, management of sharps/contamination injuries, and health promotion.
This post will suit an organised, forward-thinking person who has excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident with using a variety of IT packages and enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
This position will cover all aspects of occupational health care to staff within the Trust and for external contracts, ensuring a high standard of service delivery that is clinically effective prioritising staff health, safety and wellbeing.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* NMC Registered Nurse
Experience Essential
* Minimum of 1 year post registration nursing experience
Knowledge Essential
* Demonstrates an interest and awareness of Occupational Health and wellbeing and its role within various work environments.
Desirable
* Awareness and knowledge of work immunisations and blood borne viruses
* Awareness or knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to work, including NHS England, HSE regulations, H&S at Work etc Act (1974), Equality Act (2010)
Technical Skills Essential
* Excellent computer skills
Desirable
* Venepuncture
* Immunisation &/ Mantoux test and BCG
* Health Surveillance (Spirometry, Audiology, HAVS, Skin, General Health checks)
Other requirements Essential
* Driver - Able to travel across all trust sites and external companies in Dorset.
