Support the Performance and Assurance team in holding the force to account in their provision of an effective and efficient police service.
The Leicestershire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) are looking to recruit an Assurance Officer. You will manage the independent scrutiny functions of the OPCC including the Independent Custody Visiting Scheme, AWS and other scrutiny panels, ensuring the scheme delivers the statutory function of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
This is a full time 12 month position based at Force Headquarters, Leicester.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and amend policies and procedures as necessary, reviewing on an annual basis and overseeing all aspects of scrutiny functions.
-Develop and monitor annual objectives and targets for the functions, reporting to the Ethics Panel and SMT at key points throughout the year.
-Liaise with key stakeholders including force leads on issues relevant to the scrutiny functions.
The must haves
-Experience of correspondence management and report writing which has required researching complex issues and liaison with others.
-Able to analyse and present information in a range of formats with the ability to interpret policy, reports and research, advising on specific issues.
-Able to identify areas for improvement in the interests of efficiency and effectiveness.
This role may require you to travel for business purposes*.
