Finance and Payroll Officer
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week (office based role)

Role Summary
We are seeking a talented and organised Finance and Payroll Officer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success. This role will be responsible for processing Payroll for LJWB and Leeds Kosher Kitchen including reconciliation and payment to HMRC and pensions. The role will also be supporting the Finance Director and wider teams in maintaining accurate financial records and transactions including but not limited to; monthly payroll information processing for salaried and hourly paid staff, reconciliations, and payments to prescribed schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Complete sales, purchase, and general ledger entries as well as banking and payroll.
2. Administration of full payroll in-house across the company, communicating with NEST, AVIVA & HMRC on a monthly basis and processing all payments in relation to payroll, and reconciling control accounts to the general ledger.
3. Be a point of contact for monthly payroll queries including pensions, statutory PAYE, NI, statutory maternity, paternity, adoption and sickness payments, student loans, and other deductions, making journal postings to Sage 50 on a monthly basis.
4. Process relevant control account reconciliations.
5. Management of the ledgers for Leeds Kosher Kitchen, including invoice management, payments, bank reconciliation, accruals and prepayments and VAT returns.
Requirements:
1. Comprehensive knowledge and experience of running a payroll, including HMRC and Pension.
2. Experience of online banking systems – preparation of electronic files for upload and payments.
3. Competent in using HR and Payroll systems such as Access HRIS, SAGEPAY, Sage 50 (payroll & accounts), and Xero software packages.
4. Experience of supporting the production of monthly management accounts (desirable).
5. Accountancy qualification or studying towards (desirable).
6. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
7. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
