Job Description Based in the ASN Travel Team, this post requires you to be available for morning and afternoon school journeys, assisting pupils who require additional support to make their way to and from their home to their educational establishment. Responsibilities You will provide support to pupils/young people with additional support needs in accordance with the Council’s practices and procedures. This will include attending to the comfort, security and safety of the pupils/young people whilst being transported from home to educational establishments and to assist and guide pupils/young people in safe methods of travel to and from school including the use of public transport and walking. The Individual You will be a good communicator, calm in emergencies, reliable, conscientious and show empathy with children/parents/carers. You will have a flexible, adaptable approach and understand the importance of confidentiality. You will be able to cover a reasonable distance on foot. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
