Director - East Midlands Division | Qualified Accountancy & Finance
Alexander Daniels is supporting a dynamic SME business in their search for an experienced Financial Accountant. This role involves managing daily accounting operations and contributing to the company's growth. Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll handle financial accounting activities, from month-end closing and statutory reporting to payroll and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities:
* Managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger processes
* Preparing monthly and annual financial statements and liaising with external tax advisors
* Overseeing VAT, corporate tax, and customs compliance
* Supporting annual audits and collaborating with external auditors
* Leading payroll accounting and monthly shareholder reporting
* Driving process improvements and participating in optimisation projects
* Working with the company owner and wider business teams
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or AAT) or a Qualified by Experience candidate with a solid background in financial accounting within an SME setting. Attention to detail, a proactive approach, and advanced Excel skills are essential. Proficiency in Xero is a plus but not required.
