Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust are actively recruiting for a motivated and dynamic Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Acute Respiratory, Critical Care and Surgery (ARCCS) Team as the lead physiotherapist for surgery and vascular. As a Band 7 Physiotherapist in a large and busy team you will be required to demonstrate strong leadership skills and be confident to work as an autonomous practitioner with a focus on early assessment and discharge planning with rapid and robust decision-making essential for efficient patient flow. The role will include the flexibility to work across both sites joining a well-established, supportive team. The position involves coordinating the dynamic clinical service to the general Surgical and Vascular wards working alongside the Respiratory and Critical Care Band 7 therapists as an intrinsic member of the MDT with support from Clinical Leads as required. We strongly support Continuing Professional Development and you will be supported in your role directly by your Clinical Leads. Peer support will also be provided by the existing B7 Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. You will be required to undertake Respiratory on-call/ weekend duties on both sites following a period of induction and participate in the 7-day therapy service.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within surgical and vascular inpatient areas with support to critical care, respiratory and paediatrics as required. Also, contribute to amputee outpatient clinics as required, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries. To link with the wider medical wards, to give support and guidance as required.
To give highly specialist guidance, advice and education to other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) on matters relating to your specialist area.
Provide leadership for surgical and vascular team (in conjunction with the Clinical Lead for ARCCS) in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the physiotherapy service provided to patients within the surgical and vascular wards. This may include cross-site working.
