Scope of Work
A key communications role within a small but busy Public & Government Affairs department for one of the world's leading energy and chemicals companies.
The role reports to and supports the External Affairs Manager (UK Manufacturing) delivering multi-channel external communications for a high profile industrial site in Fife.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead the company's long-standing community contributions programme, engaging with local charities, Community Councils and Groups to identify funding opportunities.
2. Undertake administration of contributions programme.
3. Work with colleagues to identify and promote STEM education activity with local schools.
4. Identify, develop and deliver pro-active communications to improve insight and understanding of company operations.
5. Develop social media and web channels presence through use of engaging and informative imagery and copy.
6. Write compelling copy for deployment across a range of digital and print channels.
7. Develop short-life campaigns to support key issues e.g. recruitment.
8. Liaise with media team to identify local communication opportunities and support development of relevant news releases.
9. Coordinate development of photographic and video collateral.
10. Engage with internal teams and monitor external activity to identify potential emerging issues.
11. Respond to community enquiries and complaints.
Specific Requirements
1. Communications and engagement experience (at least 3-5 years) with proven track record in communications and engagement.
2. Experience of engaging with community representatives, schools and charities.
3. Excellent writing skills and experience of story identification and development.
4. Ability to analyse and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
5. Experience of digital communications including web and social media.
6. Experience of web content management systems.
7. Good interpersonal skills.
