An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a registrant with passion and motivation to drive forward the Safeguarding agenda in Neonates.
This role is a newly created role for neonates which gives the post holder the opportunity to build strong working relationships with medical, nursing and corporate teams to shape the safeguarding agenda for neonatal care. Ensuring that the organisation and the unit fulfils our safeguarding responsibilities.
The registrant will be required to be a visible and approachable role model, promoting a culture of offering family support at the right time. Working with other professionals to provide a robust plan to enable families to succeed. This role will facilitate staff to be able to be competent and confident when dealing with safeguarding matters.
Providing Safeguarding supervision
Working with key stakeholders internally and externally to the organisation
Providing Safeguarding training, bespoke training in response to learning and incidents
Leading/participating in discharge planning meetings, core groups, case conferences and child in need meetings
Leading/participating in early help meetings
Driving and empowering a culture that focuses on safeguarding and the early help agenda and has the ability to influence the nursing and medical work force
Understands thresholds of referrals to social care and for family support and seeks guidance and support when unsure
Can professionally and respectfully challenge
Has excellent communication skills both non verbal and written
Works within thresholds, guidance and policy, escalating where appropriate
Compassionately supports immediate and extended family members to care for their baby
Can signpost for support where necessary at the right time
