My client situated in Aston Clinton, Aylesbury is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to add to their growing engineering team. Starting salary £42,000 benefits/overtime. This role offers the oppportunity to work for a true independent market leader. The position is full-time permanent following a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (4 x days, 4 x break, 4 x nights 6 till 6) Purpose of job: Maintenance Engineer To ensure all blow moulding machines (Extrusion, Injection and Stretch blow moulding), associated production machinery uptime is maximised in line with Company maintenance procedures and in compliance with both production and health & safety requirements. Additionally you will be expected to provide planned and repair maintenance to all plant and works services, within the scope of your training. Tasks & responsibilities: Maintenance Engineer Ensure that all equipment, machinery and peripherals operate efficiently and at full capability, ensuring a continuous production process. Carry out repairs on machines as part of breakdown or preventative maintenance. Ensure that all relevant paperwork and maintenance logs are completed correctly and accurately in accordance with company procedure. Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with quality, hygiene and food safety policies. To perform any other duties in connection with the job that may from time to time be reasonably required by supervision and which are consistent with the “Purpose of job/mission”. Qualifications: Maintenance Engineer NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification or equilavent - mechanical or electrical. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Some knowledge of automated systems and how they function. Ability to correctly diagnose faults and resolve in a timely manner. Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities: Maintenance Engineer The client will provide safe work instructions, safe equipment or tools, personal protective equipment and welfare facilities appropriate for the work activities within this job role. The client and their landlord require health, safety and environmental compliance to be demonstrated by users of their premises. The job holder is responsible for abiding by work instruction and adhering to the Company procedures for health, safety and environmental for own protection and that of others who may be affected by the undertaking of the job functions. Attendance at health, safety and environmental training is anticipated with periodic refreshers related to the job hazards eg: fire awareness, manual handling and Display Screen Equipment assessment. The job holder will consult with their line manager for matters pertaining to health, safety or environment. Food Safety Responsibilities: Maintenance Engineer The client manufactures products for the food industry and holds FSSC22000 certification. Under these requirements all personnel have a responsibility to ensure the products produced are fit for purpose and meet the hygiene standards required. All employees are therefore responsible for reporting of pest incidents, product tampering, hygiene breaches and any other potential incidents that could impact the final product.
