The Role
:
As a Third in Charge ,you will provide leadership for the Nursery Management Team to ensure an excellent curriculum for children's individual learning needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Uphold EYFS standards in nursery practice, environment, and resources.
2. Assist staff with EYFS delivery, including room planning and development.
3. Ensure consistent planning and assessment across all rooms.
4. Lead colleagues in working with parents, monitoring children's progress, and valuing parents' contributions.
5. Develop and improve the setting's quality and effectiveness.
6. Be a key person for a group of children and lead room transitions.
7. Maintain positive relationships with external professionals and represent the setting professional.
8. Keep children safe and ensure staff follow safeguarding procedure.
9. Proactively promote and represent the nursery to parents and in the wider community.
10. Adhere to health and safety policies, supporting staff training.
11. Be aware of emergency and security procedures.
12. Assist with overall duties and assume additional management responsibilities when required.
13. Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager.
Requirements:
Essential:
14. Previously worked as a Third in Charge, Room Leader or in a similar role.
15. At least 1 years of experience working in a leadership role.
16. Background in communicating with parents and carers.
17. Strong safeguarding procedures knowledge.
18. Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
19. Capable to write reports and keep clear & accurate records.
Good to have:
20. Behaviour Management experience.
21. SENDCO qualification.
22. Food Hygiene Level 2 and Paediatric First Aid certification.
23. Understanding of digital learning platforms such as FAMLY, Learning Book, Tapestry etc.
24. Basic computer literacy with IT skills.
25. FGM awareness.
