An opportunity has arisen to join the Trust’s busy Outpatient Reception team working across our Torbay hospital site.
The working days are Thursday and Friday, with the hours varying between 08:00-17:00 (7.5hr shifts).
We are looking for a friendly, customer service focused individual who shares our core Trust values. The ideal post holder will have previous reception/admin experience and be able to provide a high standard of customer service, as they will be representing the Trust as the first point of contact with our patients.
They will be organised and able to work in a busy environment with excellent communication skills as the role will involve contact with patients, clinical and administrative staff. It is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is looking for a role in a busy and enthusiastic team delivering a high standard of care to patients. You will need to be a proactive, flexible, confident and motivated individual.
Responsibilities
1. Checking patients in for Outpatient appointments
2. Booking, cancelling and rearranging Outpatient appointments
3. Management of notes (tracering, requesting, etc.)
4. Setting up of clinics for the day
5. Associated administration tasks (completing outcomes, etc.)
6. Taking inbound calls
7. Maintaining a high standard of customer service
8. Use of hospital systems to effectively support the management of the patient journey
9. Managing spreadsheets as required
10. Liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure the patient journey is smooth
11. To work in accordance with the Trust policies at all times
The Outpatient reception team covers seven busy reception areas within Torbay Hospital: Main Outpatients Reception, Eye Clinic Reception, Fracture Clinic Reception, MAAT Reception, Paediatrics Reception, and Crow Thorne Reception. The team is comprised of 15 staff that provide reception services for a multitude of different specialties across Outpatients.
