We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician at HMP Winchester to join our team. HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.
Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.
Hours
This position is full time 37.5 hours a week, shifts will be from 07.30-18:00 4 days a week.
Salary
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,534 per annum FTE - Depending on experience gained in a prison and if you are ACT trained.
Golden Hello - £3,000 (£1,000 in 6 months of service, £1,000 after 12 months and £1,000 after 24 months of service - conditions apply).

What you'll be doing
As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards.
Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications required
NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
General GCSE education or equivalent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Good IT skills and IT literacy
A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
