As a new post, there will be a wide range of opportunities to develop the role in Medicine and MOP at UHS, working with the MDT and partner services in the community. We are therefore looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed individual to lead service development and provide expert clinical support to the therapy department. The primary focus of the role will be to support complex case management, however there will also be an expectation to support the frailty pathways across UHS acute services. As a clinical leader, there is a need for you to provide teaching, supervision and development opportunities to team leaders and specialist therapy staff, across the department and wider Trust. For this specific role we are also looking for someone who is engaged, motivated and with; Experience managing and leading a team, ideally within Elderly Care and Medicine. Excellent communication skills to support the MDT working relationship. Experience managing collaborative projects, including engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Evidence of leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team. Evidence of providing teaching to wider MDT, therapy teams and students. Ability to stay calm and make appropriate decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment. It is desirable to have the following skills, although the successful candidate will be supported to build on the following; Experience developing service improvement or governance. Understanding of Proportionate care, appropriate assessment techniques and supportingothers to implement these plans to aid discharge. As a newly created post this is an exciting endeavour for the MOP/Medicine teams and will work alongside a newly created MOP Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and the Division B Therapy Manager to shape the short- and medium-term future of these 2 teams, providing vital support to our less experienced therapy workforce and advocating for the vital role of therapies with these complex caseloads. This post is part of the wider Therapy services department. You will have many opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge through our in-service training. You will be part of a large department of over 300 Therapy staff including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy support staff.
