The role
You will be part of a busy and vital ER team supporting Manchester Airport. You will provide Line Managers with comprehensive end-to-end advice and support to ensure the effective resolution of HR casework and generalist support, through the provision of timely and accurate advice, including disciplinaries, up to and including dismissals. You will be responsible for Employment Tribunals within your area. You will build direct relationships with our Trade Union colleagues, managers, and senior managers, and make regular decisions which have an impact on the culture here at Manchester Airport. Other key accountabilities will include: giving accurate and right first-time advice to all stakeholders; being the Subject Matter Expert in areas such as absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures; developing and delivering training to up-skill Line Managers in policy, procedure, and employment legislation; contributing to any new policies that impact HR casework; supporting departmental consultative forums.
What will make you successful in the role?
In such a specialist position, you will need established complex case management experience, a detailed knowledge of employment law, and experience of working with Trade Unions and within partnership agreements. You will preferably be CIPD qualified and have experience within a large complex organisation, with a busy flow of ER work. As an organisation, we are undergoing a significant amount of change which is impacting the People/ER workload and so we are looking for someone who is available from October and can easily commute to Manchester Airport and is happy to spend at least 4 days a week in the office.
