Are you passionate about delivering high-quality patient care? Do you have experience working in a healthcare environment and a keen interest in cardiology? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to join our dynamic team on the Cardiology Ward 2a Wycombe General Hospital.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clinical teams in the delivery of exceptional care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. You will work closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of patients during their time on the ward.
About You:
* Experience in a healthcare environment, ideally within a hospital setting.
* A genuine interest in working in cardiology or with patients with heart conditions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic team.
* A caring and compassionate attitude towards patients.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Healthcare (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
* An understanding of basic life support or willingness to undergo training.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in delivering patient care under the supervision of registered nurses.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team.
* Support patients with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and eating.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring infection control measures are followed.
* Provide emotional and practical support to patients and their families.
* Assist with the administration of medications as directed by nursing staff.
* Record patient information accurately and assist in maintaining patient records.
* Ensure patient dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
