Acoustic Engineer

The position
Due to the growth of our projects across Merford Group and in anticipation of the future retirement of our current acoustic specialist, we have room for a challenging and interesting development position.
As our go to acoustic specialist, you are the acoustic knowledge leader for the projects within our noise control divisions based in the UK, The Netherlands and Belgium.
You work alongside the technical sales departments where customer requests are acquired, and proposals are drawn up.
Our customer focus is within the energy, construction and industrial sectors, where customer issues are often unique and complex because various boundary conditions that must be considered.
You also have regular contact with the operations teams across Merford Group, where you switch and coordinate with project leaders or provide advice on the design of noise control solutions.
Within this position, you have the important role of ensuring that quotes and reports are acoustically correct. You perform noise measurements in the field and visit customers to provide substantive explanations of noise control solutions and interpret the results of noise measurement reports.
You build noise models and perform acoustic simulations, with access to our own acoustic laboratory for verifying the performance of our noise control solutions and products.
In the long term, you will be able to increase the acoustic knowledge level of our colleagues through training and education. In addition, you will be responsible for further expanding our knowledge database and you will manage our measuring room/laboratory.
The position involves being part of a team carrying out a varied and interesting range of work requiring a broad range of skills and knowledge of acoustics.

What you'll need to succeed
Full UK driving licence.
IOA Membership.
Qualified to degree level in Acoustics, or another relevant discipline.
Excellent IT Skills.
Report writing skills.
Survey skills.
Able to work autonomously.
Experience of noise control engineering would be desirable but not essential.
