Workshop Manager - Part time or Full time
Are you an experienced qualified bike mechanic looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a Workshop Manager (full time or part time) to lead our friendly and dedicated team of bike mechanics and volunteers.
Maidenhead Cycle Hub charity aims to get more people cycling by selling affordable refurbished bikes and providing bike repairs, organised rides, advice on bike routes & cycling safety. We are a local charity, passionate about cycling and the benefits it brings to individuals, communities and the environment.
To manage the Maidenhead Cycle Hub Workshop on behalf of the charity to refurbish donated bikes and carry out bike repairs and bike servicing.
Responsibilities
1. Lead a small friendly team to provide a welcoming and friendly environment for mechanics, workshop volunteers and customers.
2. Manage bike servicing and repairs for customers’ bikes (quoting jobs to final inspections) and ensure customers' enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
3. Conduct 'Pre-Delivery' Inspections on refurbished bicycles and repairs.
4. Manage the pricing of refurbished bikes, servicing plans, and cost-effective parts ordering.
5. Look after the day-to-day operation and admin of the workshop, and coordinate with our Nicholson Centre shop team and trustees.
Hours: The workshop is open Monday - Friday 9am - 4.30pm. Full time hours are 9-5 Mon-Fri. Happy to consider Part-time based on 3+ days pw.

Skills/Experience Required
1. Ideally you will have a Cytech Level 2 Cycle Mechanic qualification, or equivalent training/qualification.
2. Plenty of experience servicing and repairing a wide range of bikes.
3. Able to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues with a high standard of workmanship.
4. Preferably at least 1-2 years experience working in a cycle workshop or similar workshop environment.
5. Customer service and people skills.
6. Enjoys coaching and developing others to learn bike repair skills.
7. Basic IT and admin skills to update and maintain our bike database and bike servicing records, stock ordering, customer emails etc.
