Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting Operations Team within MMC Corporate, at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Witham and is a hybrid position requiring at least three days a week in the office.
As a GL Accounting Senior Analyst, you will be part of the Accounting Operations Teams, which play a crucial role in the company. We are the key partner across Controllership on all transactional accounting-related matters.
We execute all transaction processing globally at our onshore and offshore AO Centers.
We will count on you to:
1. Review balance sheet reconciliations within the functional team's remit and assist with exception reporting and quality checks on work performed by the offshore teams.
2. Review, approve, and prepare requests for ad hoc analysis of various types of financial information utilizing operational and financial analytics as appropriate.
3. Assist with auditors and audit requirements and SOX testing.
4. Support journal entry processing and month-end reporting.
5. Conduct month-end checks related to journal entry processing and data upload from the accounting system to Essbase.
6. Perform lease and other facilities account P&L analysis and request required adjustments.
7. Manage GL period close.
8. Ensure all month-end, quarterly, and yearly task deliverables are met.
9. Cooperate with the offshore team and controllers on a daily basis.
What you need to have:
1. Experience in a similar role, preferably in a shared services center.
2. Working knowledge of ERP Accounting systems, e.g., Oracle Financials.
3. A University degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, or economics, or a recognized accounting qualification, e.g., ACCA.
