About the Role
We are looking for a qualified social worker who has a working knowledge of child exploitation. This job is an exciting opportunity to work in the Leicestershire Children's and Families Services Child Exploitation Team and work alongside Leicestershire Police Specialist teams to protect and help young people at risk of exploitation, or who have been exploited.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working in partnership with other agencies to ensure an effective multi-agency response to prevention and protection of children at risk of CE, trafficking or going missing from home, care or education.
2. Delivering high-quality social work services and contributing to the development of the service to vulnerable children and their families.
3. Enabling the local authority to achieve improvement outcomes for children and young people and families, working in line with the LSCB and CSC procedures.
4. Protecting and supporting children and young people at risk of CE and those known to be victims of CSE, in partnership with parents and carers where appropriate.
5. Chairing and/or participating in child protection conferences, CE strategy meetings, court, and other meetings as required.
6. Carrying out work outside of normal working hours if necessary.
7. Attaining and maintaining Management Vetting & Security Check Clearance within Leicestershire Police.
8. Completing a DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
* Be a qualified social worker.
* Be Social Work England Registered.
* Have experience and knowledge of child exploitation.
* Have experience of working in a multi-agency setting and building positive working relationships.
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills in being child/young person-centred, and trauma-informed.
* Show evidence of working within a fluid and challenging environment with the flexibility to meet the needs of the children and young people supported.
* Model good social work practice, including accountability for high-quality service delivery and efficient use of resources.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
